This tall, two-light window in the west wall of the vestibule contains two rows of saintly kings, including St Edward the Confessor and St Oswald and probably St Olaf. The four figures were made from only two cartoons, although in a varied palette of glass colours. The intervening grisaille panels are very similar, but with inventive variations of colour and detail. The original glass is heavily corroded and fragmented, probably a reflection of its exposure to damp and cold in this location where the chapter house vestibule wall abuts the north transept. In 2007 the window was releaded and restored by the YGT, with numerous painted insertions replacing unsightly unpainted stopgaps. It was reinstalled in 2009 with ventilated environmental protective glazing.
