Scene set as 5a. In the centre is the figure of the saint, nimbed, tonsured and bearded, wearing liturgical garments, including what is probably a dalmatic (indicating the saint’s status as a deacon). He stands on a support but is bound to a cruciform rack with extra struts at top and bottom that extends into 6c. The torturer on the right appears to be tying the saint down, while that on the left seems to be scourging him. Only fragments of the inscription remain. The scene continues in 6c. Flanking shafts to either side as 5a and 5b, except that the bases are green and the figural capital yellow. Borders as 1a.
