St Peter asked to be crucified upside-down, because he felt unworthy to suffer the same death as Jesus. On either side an executioner stands on top of a ladder. To either side are canopy shafts with heraldic decoration, as 5a. Background as 2a. The lower border figures wear green robes, and the upper ones are seated penitencers holding scourges.
