Against a blue ground a man dressed as a pilgrim, facing the centre of the window. In his left hand he holds a pilgrim’s staff, from which hang a red cloth and a scrip that was probably originally painted with a scallop shell; with his right he leads by its reins a horse whose left foreleg is raised, and on which a saddle is secured by golden straps. Above the saddle is visible the hand of a squire holding a banner; the detail is now obscure, but it was recorded as being Vairy argent and sable (de la Ward). In the borders sit squirrels and doctor monkeys with urine flasks.
