Against a red foliage ground, St Peter sits on an architectural throne, the seat of which is decorated with a pattern of fleurs de lis and bearded male heads. He holds in his left hand the key of the kingdom and in his right a structure that may be the shrine of St William, sited nearby. The saint’s head is an insertion dating to the mid-14th-century, and his hands are also patched.
