In the middle the body of Christ hangs from a green cross (which extends upwards into 6b). On the left a soldier (traditionally called Longinus), pierces Christ’s side with his spear and seemingly points at his eye, to indicate that his eye problems had been cured by a drop of Christ’s blood. On the right a soldier (traditionally called Stephaton), offers Christ a sponge soaked in vinegar to drink.
