This panel is one of eleven designed and made by J.W. Knowles under the direction of Rev. J.T. Fowler in 1886-8. It shows St Cuthbert sharing the loaf of bread, provided by God in panel 10d, with his horse. The scene was probably chosen because is an important example of Cuthbert’s charity and humility, which was described by Bede.
