The miraculous moment occurs when Cuthbert lit the fire, blessing the ground and enabling fires to miraculously ignite whenever twigs were placed in the same spot in future. The depiction of Cuthbert placing the twigs and the simultaneous eruption of the fire compresses time to evoke a miracle which is difficult to represent in a single image.
