This panel is one of eleven designed and made by J.W. Knowles under the direction of Rev. J.T. Fowler in 1886-8. It shows St Cuthbert being introduced to St Columba by Cuthbert’s mother and the nobleman who became his guardian in panel 8c. The imagery of the panel, especially the figures’ costumes, shows how closely Knowles had studied the original glass.
