This panel shows St Cuthbert having a vision of the death of King Ecgfrith, while visiting a fountain in Carlisle. Cuthbert is shown accompanied by a priest, a layman and a young boy, who bends to gather water flowing from the fountain. The glass showing the fountain itself has been lost. Cuthbert stands in the middle of the panel and stares to the right, where panel 20b, which shows the death of Ecgfrith, would originally have been located.
