The upper part of this panel is largely a restoration. It appears to show a version of a story told in the Life of a boy who fell into a well and was drowned. He was fished out, and was restored to life by Saint William in response to his mother’s prayers. The details however differ. The mother is not represented, and in the text the boy is a toddler. This is one of the few panels to show a vision of the saint.
