A group of eight men gather round the tomb. All of them have a rope round their necks. In some cases, the rope can be seen hanging down beside their bodies. Are these condemned prisoners praying for release — an episode nowhere mentioned in the sources? Or, since blind people were sometimes led along by a rope round their necks, are these the eight one-eyed people cured at the tomb according to one of the texts? The paint loss on their faces makes it difficult to read their expressions.
