The design is very similar to panel 1a. The arms on the surcoats are differenced by a crescent and an annulet, for William and Thomas, second and third sons of William, 6th Lord Ros. Each panel shows the figures in a fictive chapel (denoted by the elaborate architectural frame) decorated with hangings in the background. All the members of the family look towards the altar depicted in panel 1e.
