The lady in front of the altar is Beatrice, née Stafford, widow of Thomas, 4th Lord Ros who died in 1384. Her cloak formerly bore the arms of Ros impaling Stafford. She was probably the initiator of the commission, and she may be the lady who appears in the last miracle story in panels 24d and 24e. She died in 1415.
