William’s long career as Treasurer (c.1108-1141) is covered in the Life in just a few conventional sentences extolling his character and conduct. The original glass is lost. The existing panel incorporates some fragmentary figures of similar style and date which were brought from the south transept in 1955, but do not belong to the Saint William Window. They have been much restored and set within a modern background and frame so as to harmonise with the rest of the window.
